精神气韵信瑰诡，毫发轻浓皆仿佛。
持来都下示朋僚，一见飘然动诗思。
诸公诗豪固难敌，形容物象尤精致。
气完语健隽众口，二子声名转增贵。
予观昔之善画者，心手规橅无不至。
穷奇极怪千万端，特出一时之用意。
鬼神冥漠不可诘，岂有便能人勇智。
仙官佛像亦如斯，变态随时转奇丽。
遂令来者信有说，塔庙从而增侈费。
后贤虽欲究端倪，竟亦无由革颓弊。
因知怪诞一崇长，渐靡成风滋巧伪。
兹图他日遂流传，更使人心惑魑魅。

（1020—1101）泉州同安人，徙居丹阳，字子容。苏绅子。仁宗庆历二年进士。知江宁。皇祐五年召试馆阁校勘，同知太常礼院。迁集贤校理，编定书籍。英宗即位，为度支判官。神宗立，擢知制诰，知审刑院，因奏李定拜官不合章法，落知制诰，出知婺州。元丰初，权知开封府，改沧州。奉旨编纂《鲁卫信录》。哲宗元祐初，除吏部尚书兼侍读，以邃于律历提举研制新浑仪。元祐七年拜右仆射兼中书侍郎，为相务使百官守法遵职，量能授任。后罢知扬州，徙河南。绍圣末致仕。有《苏魏公集》、《新仪象法要》、《本草图经》。
