宋杭州富阳人，字彦渊。徽宗崇宁二年进士，又中大观三年弘词科。宣和初，提举广东市舶，居官廉直。高宗绍兴中，除比部郎，辞秦桧联姻之请。屡拒桧子受学，遂请外，持宪闽部。晚年谓贪与痴已绝，唯嗔未尽去，因榜其室曰“去嗔”。卒年七十七。有《去嗔居士集》。
